Camden RSL Community Memorial WalkwayThu 25th Mar

The Camden RSL Community Memorial Walkway is designed to mirror Camden's well recoginised community commitment to developing and maintaining its historic "working country town" character.
To this end, the walkway is located to meander for about for about 5.3 kilometres through the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park, and includes 4 picnic/passive recreational precincts with vistas of the park and the surrounding rural and urban areas. It then moves through the adjoining Camden Town via Onslow Park, Exeter, Edward, Arygle, Hill, Broughton, Chellaston Streets, MemorialPark/Civic Centre, Oxley Street, the Showground and Cawdor Road for a further 2.8 kilometres, passing by a variety of historic, cultural and commercial precincts.
The walkway is 5 miles long (approx) 8.1 kilometres, as this is the distance from the beach front to the escarpment at Gallipoli. It is proposed that the start and finish commences at the Native Garden Memorial opposite the existing Camden RSL Club Limited off Cawdor Road, but the walkway is designed so that you can use all or part of the walkway and enter at any point. The memorial garden area will be used to stage commemorative services i.e Anzac Day, Remembrance Day etc and will be a central point for educational activities.
You may support the walkway and provide a lasting memorial to a loved one by purchasing a tree to plant along the Camden RSL Community Memorial Walkway. The Camden RSL Community Memorial Walkway was officially opened on 11 November, 2006.

The Camden RSL Sub Branch wishes tp thank sincerely The Hon Pat Farmer ( Federal Member for Macarthur), The Council of Camden and the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park Committee for their great assistance throughout this project

For more information about how you can support the Camden RSL Community Memorial Walkway contact the Camden RSL Sub Branch, P.O. Box 149, CAMDEN NSW 2570 or telephone 0419925294.

To date 30 Memorial Trees have been planted and further plantings, will be carried out in the cooler months to preserve the young trees from the heat.
